Report from Baronial Meeting - No report Officer's Report
Seneschal: Not present, notes taken by Constantia and submitted to web by Denis Master of Stables: Fighting continues, practices canceled for Nov 27th and Dec 4th Arts and Sciences: Stepping down as of November 30th. No incoming replacement at this time Exchequer:
1. Is it OK to extend Heilyn's term as exchequer as per warrant? OK'd by members present.
2. Is it OK to add Kingdom Exchequer (Roberta Tower) to PDL's bank account signature card? OK'd by members present.
3. Paid Dennis for annual web domain fees. Chatelain: In contact with two individuals. Still considering options and agenda for demo in May as well as discussions for possible newcomers event |

Canton Business Meeting September 21, 2009 Baronial Bits-As this will be the Barony’s 40th birthday they are planning to do something special and with luck it will be done before Three Mountains. They have a new site for meetings for now and are working on a site in Redmond, Wa for their Socials. There is some lag in the new Seneschale taking over as the Exchequer is taking over as Seneschale and they now need to find someone to take over as Excheqer. M.O.S.-practices continue; newcomer is getting into armor. Exchequer-wrote checks for website, site for Day of Dance and Baronial A&S and Seed Money for Day of Dance and Baronial A&S - We do not have debit cards on our bank account and the Kingdom is happy about this. - We got the bank statements for the last two months. A&S – Nothings happened and nothing is planned for October. The position is open to any who are interested. Come to meetings to learn more. Old Business Day of Dance and Baronial A&S - Wrote checks for site and seed monies - Musicians are complimentary - Advertising comtinues - Still working out schedule |

Your friendly canton Url Steward here with news on the web site upgrade status...
Joomla 1.1 to 1.5 upgrade status: partially on hold
Making the change from ver 1.x to ver 1.5 is very time-consuming and a litle difficult...like pulling nails/teeth/hair. However, since the newest version of the core content management software still doesn't offer the one thing that would make going through the proccess worth it, I'm holding off on the core update for now...hopefully ver 1.6 will have the changes I need to make the effort worthwhile.
So instead, I simply made some small changes to some of the components to update the current functionality. - I removed the online event calendar. It wasn't being utilized, and it was duplicating information that can be found elsewhere. If the Kingdom ever implements an iCalender complient system that one can subscribe to, I may re-visit the idea of having our own online calender. Notification of upcoming Canton events can simply be announced on the site that way I currently announce the Sew-Whats
- Removed the photo-gallery, again it was not being utilized, it was poorly implemented (had to muck with the core management software to get it to work), and was using more HD space than it was supposed to.
- Added the ability for content editors (the officers basically) to embed video (hosted elsewhere) in their content. This ability was specifically requested by the Master of Stables so he could post fighting videos to the web site. Wearing my A&S hat, I can envision some other uses for that function as well.
Changes that still need to be made (most will occur over the next couple days). - Create a link to the Baronial/Kingdom online calender
- Create an interactive subscribe/unsubscribe from for the Canton's email list....need to talk to Stu about the particulars for that.
- Create a Who's who page for the Canton with maybe links to the Antir Culture-Wiki...may actually ask for a volunteer to do this part and to keep it updated, Or alternatively, come up with a way for folks to register on the canton's web site and update the info themselves...hmmm...have to think about that some more.
- Create a page for the Porte Chalice award. Will need some help on this one...I'm looking for a chronological list of recipients with a little info as to why they received it....Also, if folks have any images of the scrolls that were made for some of the recipients, that would be nice to have as well.
If anyone has any suggestions for things they'd like to see, let me know. |

When: Sunday, July 26th, starting at 1:00pm.
Where: Lance and Tracy's house (email me for directions)
It's time once again for our periodic Canton Project Day (Sew-What). Bring some drinks and snacks and come and work on that project you've been meaning to finish for the last couple of years, or just come and be social!! We'll probably start the grill around 5 or 6, so bring something to burn and a dish to pass. This is also a great opportunity for new folks to meet some of the members of the canton in a more social setting. If anyone has a particular desire to see something from my personal library, let me know and I'll bring what I have on that particular subject.
Note for those with allergies...three cats and one dog share this house. If you have allergies you might want to be prepared. |
